Hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoidectomy is surgery to remove hemorrhoids. Most of our patient will be given local sedation rather than general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia to eliminate the unpleasant side effects of anesthesia. Using traditional surgery, incisions are made in the tissue, the swollen vein inside the hemorrhoid is sutured off to prevent bleeding, and the hemorrhoid is removed. This often causes great discomfort to the patient postoperatively. Our surgeons are also trained in more advanced procedures, such as the use of a stapling device to remove hemorrhoid tissue or use a tool that uses electrical current (Ligatures) to seal the vessels of the hemorrhoid and then remove it. These latest procedure cause the least amount of discomfort to the patient postoperatively.
